Stämpfli Singles

Design

Stämpfli has been producing racing shells since 1896 and during this time we have developed the most refined racing singles on the market. Utilising the highest quality pre-pregnated materials we have produced a light stiff boat that has been sculled to Olympic Gold medals by the likes of Pertti Karpinnen and Sam Lynch.

The Stämpfli X1 (Finnish Mould) was first constructed in 1986, based on drawings from the Finnish Ship Technical Institute in Helsinki.

The Stämpfli S1 (Stämpfli Classic Mould) is the hull design used in the classic cedar Stämpfli.

The Stämpfli ST1 (Autoclave) is the FISA Short Mould hull modified above the waterline to suit this type of construction.

Construction

Stämpfli High Performance boats (except the ST1) are manufactured by using Nomex honeycomb sandwiched between high quality high modulus pre-pregnated carbon (96%) and glass fibre (4%), then heated under vacuum pressure and cured at 130°C.. The resulting bond is 6–8 times stronger than the "wet lay-up" used by other manufacturers.

This substantially increased strength of bond, together with the use of carbon fibre, makes the hull stiffer, more durable and far less susceptible to damage.

TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS

All hull sizes are built to or below FISA Minimum Weight, and all hulls conform to FISA Buoyancy Guidelines.
